Mixxie Powers's video: James Cagney takes a real punch from Donald Cook in The Public Enemy 1931

FYI, people often think they hear a racial slur within Cagney's fast-paced delivery. He accuses his brother of being a sneak thief and a "nickle snatcher'. He is most definitely not saying "N***** snatcher". If you listen to the context of the dialogue, the latter makes no sense. Cagney was very liberal, starting out life as an amateur boxer and his acting career as a tap dancer in vaudeville. He was also a painter. It is very unlikely, even at this early stage in his career, that he would have tolerated being asked to use a slur like that. Anyway, as I said, it's a slur that doesn't even make sense within the context of the scene and the dialogue. . From wikipedia: "In the scene where Mike Powers punches his brother Tom, director Wellman privately took Donald Cook aside and, explaining his desire for authenticity in "Tom's" reaction, asked the actor to really hit Cagney. Cook played his part a bit too well, and he struck Cagney in the mouth with such force, he actually broke one of his teeth. Yet in spite of his genuine shock and pain, Cagney stayed in character and played out the rest of the scene." Also to address all the comments that questions what he calls his brother, it's 'nickle snatcher' which in the context of the film makes much more sense than what some folks seem to be hearing.
