Obviously, these days systems are more automated with a greater emphasis on container transport, but it wasn't too many years ago when most smaller freight consignments were loaded and unloaded by hand. The local freight depot or goods shed was where private individuals, staff from small business and transport operators, visited to dispatch or collect parcels. Those were the days before door-to-door couriers and containerization intermodal freight transport. This video demonstration tutorial shows how to make an OO gauge Goods Shed Freight Depot using downloaded paper plans and card from a used cereal box. The plans can be easily scaled on a home printer to HO scale, or N scale plans can be downloaded. Matt Mod Podge is a versatile product that can be used as an adhesive and sealant for the completed scale model. Other adhesives such as clear tube glue, a glue stick, or super glue can be used as an alternative. The models are very lightweight yet surprisingly strong when constructed.
