The ending is open for any possibility of occurrence between the boys, like how would you go on and continue the story, picking your favorite pair. Would Bakugo come to terms with his own feelings and accept Midoriya or will Midoriya and Todoroki continue to grow closer? Ｓｔｏｒｙ: In a fierce battle to protect Bakugo against the villain’s plot of kidnapping him, Midoriya fought with all his might, dangerously exceeding his limit, resulting in unimaginable damages to his arms. Hospitalized and broken, Midoriya thought of Bakugo as he lied down in pain of his own injuries. Unknown to him, Bakugo was standing outside the door, listening to his cries yet he didn't had in him to face him. Although Bakugo had pushed Midoriya away for the longest time, he couldn't understand why Midoriya would go the extra mile for him, making him feel things he hadn’t realized he had been carrying all along. With the burden of carrying this guilt for his injuries, he simply watched Midoriya from afar, learning from doctors that his arms have been severely damaged and rehabilitation was needed where he won't be using his arms for a long time. As he exited the hospital, he came face to face with Todoroki who had also come to pay Midoriya a visit. Not expecting to see Bakugo, Todoroki watched him pass by as Bakugo carried his lowly gaze ahead. Outside the room Midoriya was staying in, Todoroki recalled the times he had with him, watching him from afar in admiration of his will and determination. Hesitating on these emerging emotions that have dwelling up inside of him for some time, he opened the door. As Midoriya lied down lifeless and empty after his operation, he glanced towards the opening door. Somehow, seeing Todoroki brought a feeling of warmth, reflecting through his glimmering eyes before tears started pouring out in anguish. The sight of him crying had Todoroki's heart ache from within. Walking alone at night, Bakugo thought Midoriya during the fight and other times when Todoroki cared for Midoriya too much that would make him fall into a fit of rage. Yet, he couldn’t understand why, or why that should matter to him at all. Wondering to himself, he recalled those times of them as children when Midoriya constantly clung to him. But his thoughts mostly lingered on feelings of guilt and anger that he wasn't strong enough. As Midoriya walked out of the hospital with Todoroki, in that fit of pent up anger and jealousy, he punched Midoriya across the face, yelling at him for being a total fool for fending off the enemy at the risk of his own life. Angry as to why would he be saved by the “useless Deku”. Those words tugged painfully at Midoriya’s heart. In a memory when Midoriya was running after Bakugo, the moment he saw him walking away with Kirishima, his heart ached and lips trembled of the fact that Bakugo would never open his heart. Meanwhile, Todoroki watched silently not too far behind. Bakugo hated the fact that he had always carried some feelings towards Midoriya, behind all his rage and brutal lashing, but he couldn’t bring himself to accept them, turning a blind eye to these unwanted feelings. When Midoriya risked his life for him in that battle, he dreaded the feeling of losing him, but those emotions never expressed themselves into words. Instead, in that night where he met Midoriya alone, he expressed feelings of guilt and anger towards his own weakness that surprised Midoriya as he watched Bakugo tremble in agony. --- As Midoriya watched from afar, he started paying more attention towards Todoroki, yet his feelings for Bakugo still lingered in his heart. When Todoroki came to him, Midoriya wondered out loud if he was foolish to care about Bakugo, hoping that one day he would accept him, how he constantly chased after him as a child, admiring his resilience and determination despite his brutal lashing. As Todoroki looked to the side, his words spoke of how compassionate Midorya’s heart was and that his capacity for love and concern for others exceeded everything else, just like how his strong passion changed his once icy heart, and that didn’t make him a fool at all. As Midoriya took in the words, he remembered that pure admiration as a child at a time when he wanted to be just as strong and fearless as Bakugo. Somehow being reminded of that memory brought a smile to his lips. He turned to Todoroki and warmly thanked him for always being there for him. With time, Todoroki came to understand more of his feelings towards Midoriya, making him smile as he watched him fall asleep. In that moment, he silently vowed to cherish him forever.
