This is the story of Paras Copra who did his BE in biotechnology. Paras left his successful engineering job to start his own company. He is now in the list of successful businessmen with a turnover of 60 crores. Whatever Paras accomplished was not at all easy. What’s special – This is a startup which empowers websites and e-commerce stores to achieve better profits through budget software tools which are easy to use as well. The first product of the company Visual Website Optimizer has made it in the list of top analytical service providers. Paras Chopra who is from Punjab was always ahead in his studies. According to Paras, his father used to use the computer for his work and this made Paras interested in computers. He started programming at the age of 13 where other children play games on the computer. At the time of completion of his school studies, he became excelled in programming. He took admission in Delhi College of Engineering and opted for Biotechnology as his subject. His parents, however, were not happy with this decision of their son. They wanted him to study further in computers but he decided to finish his graduation in Biotechnology only. He also brushed his computer skills regularly during this period. He used to use this knowledge for his studies and to make models and projects. This made him interested in data mining and analytics. According to him, he had read an article on how to start a startup in his school days and this had motivated him a lot. Taking up this passion of his he also invested in 3 or 4 startups in his college time but as there was no proper business model this couldn’t be successful. He got the idea during his job – He completed his graduation with a gold medal in 2008 and started working as R&D engineer in aspiring Minds Company. But he still wanted to have his own startup. After one and a half year in the job, he started making a list of areas he liked. After working a month on it, he came forward with the idea of marketing optimization. He had a great interest in the mixture of analytics, marketing, and technology. He got the idea of Wingify from here and this 23-year-old started his own company.
