New 2022 Nissan Patrol Review - Family SUV! | Motor Updates Here is the quick detailed new 2022 Nissan Patrol review. Checkout interior, exterior design, features, safety, technology, comfort, performance, off-road capability, drive modes, changes, updated and many other details on this large family SUV. Headlining the changes for 2022 are the application of a new, flat Nissan logo design which will gradually roll out across its line-up, and some darkened trim pieces on the front intakes and grille. That’s about it. Unfortunately, we still don’t get the updated interior from the US-market Nissan Armada which is essentially the same car but in left-hand drive, meaning we miss an updated infotainment system with tech like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. With that said, the Patrol is still steaming along in the sales race, setting an all-time Australian sales record in March 2022. With Toyota’s new LandCruiser 300 crippled by production delays and supply shortages, Aussie adventurers are walking into Nissan showrooms to buy this hulking V8 petrol-powered beast. How much does the Nissan Patrol Ti-L cost? In this video we have the top-spec 2022 Nissan Patrol Ti-L which lists for $95,115 plus on-road costs. That’s no small sum of money, but when you consider you can have a fully-loaded Patrol for the same or less money than a mid-spec LandCruiser 300 GXL or low-grade versions of a Land Rover Defender or Discovery, you’re getting a lot of car for you money. The range opens even lower, with the entry-level Patrol Ti asking for $82,160 before on-roads with the same drivetrain and a still healthy level of standard equipment. It’s even cheaper than a base Volkswagen Touareg. 2022 Nissan Patrol pricing: - Nissan Patrol Ti: $82,160 - Nissan Patrol Ti-L: $95,115 The eight-seat Patrol Ti ($81,160) is more affordable again – in fact, on price it’s comparable to the smaller Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in top-spec Kakadu trim ($87,807). If price alone isn’t enough to pique interest in the Patrol, it’s also powered by a smooth 298kW 5.6-litre petrol V8 that is far more energetic and endearing than the Prado’s 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four. In an emissions-regulated world, maybe this is your last chance to enjoy an old-school petrol V8 in true land-yacht form. The Patrol has little ambition to be more than what it is: a 4WD that measures 1995mm wide, 1955mm tall and tips the scales at over 2.7 tonnes. But when you’re aware of (and willing to work with) those gargantuan figures, the Patrol Ti-L does have its charm. The jewel in the crown is its decidedly Dubai-spec 298kW/560Nm 5.6-litre direct-injection petrol V8 which is gloriously smooth when ticking around town before opening its lungs to growl from 3500rpm to its 6000rpm redline – all while providing ample grunt for an unladen Patrol. The Patrol’s 5.6-litre V8 may sound a little old-school, but it’s actually the cabin that dates this 4WD. That said, a commanding driving position and robust build quality do give the Patrol a certain relaxed confidence. Yes the controls are scattered almost at random across the centre console, and the 8.0-inch touchscreen with navigation doesn’t have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto capability (in Australia) and looks small in the context of a 4WD as vast as the Patrol. There is a CD player though, so you can play lossless audio through the Ti-L’s powerful 13-speaker Bose stereo which goes some way to making up for the lack of smartphone mirroring. © Copyright Notice: We make these videos to Entertain people and Educate them.
