Mr. David's video: Culture Club YOU KNOW I M NOT CRAZY Extended Remix - Mr David s Version

@Culture Club YOU KNOW I'M NOT CRAZY (Extended Remix) - Mr. David's Version
"You Know I'm Not Crazy" was poised to be the third Culture Club single, following White Boy and I'm Afraid Of Me (and Mystery Boy in Japan), but the label cautioned the group that one more chart failure and their contract would be cancelled. Although Culture Club had full creative control over their releases, singles, videos, everything- practically unheard of concessions for an untried band- they did take the label's advice and go with "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" instead- a song George wasn't even sure he wanted on the album, much less out as a single. "You can't dance to it" was his vocalized complaint, but in reality he felt it was "too personal" and was a little shy about bearing his soul. Of course, history proved that to be the right decision, but what about "Crazy"? Was it ever extended for the 12-inch? Is it sitting somewhere on some dreary forgotten cassette gathering dust? Would it have been a similar success for the band, ensuring their place in music history? Would it have sounded something like this? Probably not, but I had fun putting this together nonetheless. Actually, I highly doubt "You Know I'm Not Crazy" would have been successful in the charts if given the chance; they even considered it as a FOURTH single, but ultimately decided the world like a softer, more harmless Boy George so "Time Clock Of The Heart" was released instead, which is about as harmless as you can get. "Crazy" was reserved for the B-side of "Hurt Me" in America and Mexico, perhaps hoping it might get some airtime on the radio during the waiting period for the album to be released- perhaps that non-response convinced them to leave the track alone. When a follow-up for "Time" was required in those territories, "I'll Tumble 4 Ya!" was released instead, a top ten hit in the USA, but for some reason never had a release back in the UK, where it was only released as the B-side to that other hit single called "Karma Chameleon".
