(Particles) 11-2017 Part of their successful twin-track "Leviathan" EP, "Akyoomen" showcased the Lanvary production talent in a wonderful collage of bouncing rhythms and rippling melodies. As Particles now returns to the track, a pair of new remixes from Egypt and the Netherlands strikes a new chord with the original mix. An Egyptian producer whose modus operandi centres around 'the harmony that results from diversified beat, sounds, rhythms and melodies", Amr Khaled's Fulltone soubriquet stems from the "perfect unity" when all elements combine in magical fashion. An artist with a notable portfolio to his name, a full original EP debut appeared courtesy of the "Reflect EP" for Beachside Records in August 2013. Going on to amass a raft of original production credits, Seven Villas, Dream Culture and L'enfant Terrible have all featured the Fulltone name. Further work for Souq Records' "Darb Compilation" has seen a collaborative partnership with Safism blossom into a quartet of highly original tracks that are bursting with innovative melodic content and world music credentials. Basing his remix on a new and chunky rhythmic framework, the Fulltone rework of "Akyoomen" is replete with luscious melodic phrasing that rises out of a sparkling new piano arrangement and soft string progressions. Cleverly reinterpreting Lanvary's original, an array of additional production material creates a unique and original piece that flows from the Fulltone production studio in gorgeous aural colour. Dutch producer, Dominique Vijverberg, has been at the forefront of the underground scene in 2017. Through his Deeparture production pseudonym, the Amsterdam based artist has created a persona that has shone brightly with a raft of original production material. A year that began with the release of March's "Purcer EP" for Weiter, went on to see further airline inspired works in the four-track "Attendant EP" for Cinematique in May. A regular in the clubs of his hometown and a reputation that has begun to rise at rapid rate, support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur and fellow countryman, Eelke Kleijn, has given a further lift to the Deeparture name. May 2017's Proton Music debut saw the twin-track, "Flight of Imagination" take to the skies to critical acclaim as Deeparture now debuts on sister label, Particles, with his remix of Lanvary. Redolent in the rich melodic underpinnings that are central to his work, the Deeparture remix flows with dance floor joy as a bouncing bass groove, strong kick and crisp percussive cadence combine with a plethora of additional production work. Using the foundations of "Akyoomen" to strong effect the stuttered vocal melody is brought fully to the fore as a new motif sits alongside the dynamic groove, in sparkling fashion. Making sound judgement with their remix treatments, Fulltone and Deeparture have crafted a wonderful sonic "Akyoomen" from Lanvary's music.
