Yep, it really does cover all those genres. The horror is more of the jumpscare variety, but those zombies can be pretty creepy sometimes too. The goal of the game is to survive in the wasteland of the zombie apocalypse, so survival is quite literally what the game is all about. You don't HAVE to craft to survive, but it's a whole lot harder to get by without using the extensive crafting system the game provides. Every 7 nights (with vanilla settings) a big horde of zombies tries to get you, so you have to build defenses to survive the night. Methods differ, but it really is a 3D turret defense situation. The zombies know where you are, and there is no way to hide. Build castles, convert existing structures, devise mazes full of traps... how you survive is up to you. As of now, 7 Days to Die doesn't have much of a story. It does have randomly generated world maps where nearly all the blocks are breakable. The world is your sandbox to play in, as long as you can deal with the roving undead of course. Join a thriving community of players and modders that will give you thousands of hours of gaming value!
