The Accord hybrid has a combined 47 mpg rating along with an official EPA rated 50 mpg in the city. The Accord hybrid will start at less than $30,000 and is on sale now. • Porsche right now is releasing it's new plug-in hybrid Panamera. This 4 door sports car gets a 9.4 KWH battery giving it a 22 mile all electric range. This should give it Prius like fuel economy with horsepower and torque each over 400. • The U.S. now has more solar energy workers than coal miners. Solar employs about 120,000 people in the states and it keeps rising. There are even more solar workers in Texas than there are ranchers there. California, Arizona and New Jersey employ the most solar workers. • New electric highways keep opening around the world. In Canada, you can now drive your electric car from Detroit to Montreal along highway 401. The 560 mile journey can be completed without range anxiety because free car chargers are placed every 30-60 miles. • Robots may soon be helping troops in the battlefield carry heavy supply loads. This will help the soldiers focus more on their missions rather than worry about carrying their gear. The robots don't fire on or capture the enemy yet. • An oil pipeline leak spilled 20,000 barrels in North Dakota. The pipeline was underground and the leak wasn't noticed until a farmer discovered oil on his land. The farmer said the nearby crop disintegrated. The company responsible has said there are no known impacts to the environment.
