Shadow Mario will be waiting on the ship directly ahead of the player's starting position. Getting close or spraying him from afar will cause Shadow Mario to begin running to the back of the ship. He'll use the ship's smokestack to reach the platforms above and will continue to run around on the beams and platforms for the duration of the chase.
