MsTexas73's video: The 5th Dimension My Song

From Soul & Inspiration (1974)...This song taps into the group's gospel, blues, and funk side and is probably the FUNKIEST tune the 5th Dimension ever made (Pre-Earthbound). It's definitely one of my absolute favorites by the group and is proof that they can SANG ANYTHING. The story in the song itself, while comical in a way is dead-on when referring to a songwriter's pain. My FAVORITE part is the breakdown esp when the group begins to take it "down home". NOTE: One that maybe doesn't pay attention to detail as in voice intonation might not recognize this as the 5th Dimension had they not known up front this is who they are although you can CLEARLY hear all five voices distinctively. But in the breakdown you might be fooled by who is saying what. For example, I had to listen quite a few times before I picked up on Marilyn on that part. But she's DEFINITELY there, and this part demonstrates that she certainly has a wide range vocally because she takes it LOW. I am so impressed with their versatile vocal skills.
