A win against Mumbai in Sharjah will take them through to the playoffs while a loss will eliminate them from the race. Hyderabad would be very pleased with their performance in the last couple of matches. While the batting clicked in Dubai against Delhi, the bowling led the way against Bangalore in Sharjah. The decision to open with Wriddhiman Saha has been a master-stroke gamble that has paid off for Hyderabad. The wicket-keeper batsman hit a match-winning 87 off just 45 deliveries against Delhi while also top-scoring against Bangalore. Skipper, David Warner is also peaking at the right time and was back at his best in Dubai. Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson will hold together the middle order while the addition of Jason Holder could add some much needed firepower in the lower-order and some more control in the bowling. With Mumbai , Delhi and Royal Bangalore having qualified for the playoffs, Tuesday's match between Hyderabad and Mumbai is a direct face-off between Warner's men and Riders in the race for qualification. Hyderabad have no option but to defeat Mumbai in order to remain in the competition. Twelve points and a positive run-rate notwithstanding, they need to be at their best against a stronger opposition. If Hyderabad lose, they will be out and Kolkata will sneak in. The manner in which Mumbai have overcome the loss of regular captain Rohit Sharma due to injury is an indication of the depth in their squad. In Rohit's absence, Kieron Pollard has done an admirable job of leading the side. They have been well served by Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan at the top, Suryakumar Yadav in superb touch and the Pandya brothers striking at will. Two of their bowlers - Jasprit Bumrah (23 wickets) and Trent Boult (20) - figure in the top five of the bowling charts and Rahul Chahar (15) has complemented them well to make the four-time champions a good all-round unit, which has made winning a habit. Hyderabad, however, will go into this match upbeat after two big wins against Delhi and Bangalore. The win over Bangalore would have certainly pleased the think tank, for the manner in which Hyderabad overcame a mid-innings wobble to finish the match while chasing down a small total. Wirddhiman Saha replacing Jonny Bairstow has lent more solidity to the batting, and Hyderabad's bowlers have played a big part in their last two wins with Sandeep Sharma, Jason Holder and Natarajan coming into their own. Mumbai will also have Rashid Khan to contend with. Sandeep Sharma has been very impressive in the last couple of matches. He has got crucial wickets with the new ball which has set the opposition on the back foot giving Hyderabad the early momentum in the match. Sharma has also been very restrictive. Left-arm seamer, Thangarasu Natarajan has been Hyderabad's fast bowler of the season - he has bowled with discipline and given nothing away while also chipping in with the wickets. He had an economy rate of 6.5 and 2.75 in the last couple of matches. Rashid Khan will continue to be the playmaker with the ball for SRH in the middle orders - he is their leading wicket-taker with 18 wickets in 13 matches at a brilliant economy rate of 5.07 - the best in IPL 2020! Having already reserved a top two spot in the playoffs, Mumbai may experiment a bit in this match. They would want to rest their two fast bowling workhorses - Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult and might replace them with Mitchell McClenaghan and Dhawal Kulkarni. They might also give Quinton de Kock a breather and get in Chris Lynn at the top of the order. Ishan Kishan can go behind the stumps in that case. Mumbai have been the most balanced team in 2020 and are now firing on all cylinders.
