Mutants Records's video: Kitsch2 0 Housecoholic Original Mix

@Kitsch2.0 "Housecoholic" Original Mix
Out March 4th on Beatport and Itunes on March 18th Mutants delivers Summer in Spring with the sonic sunshine of Marseille's KitSch 2.0... France has a love affair with electronic music duos and it isn't a surprise to see why. No other country in the world can boast a list as illustrious as Cassius, Air, Justice and a certain Daft Punk. Fair to say, whether it's their self-proclaimed mantra of égalité and fraternité, when it comes to collaborative efforts the famed Republic is head and shoulders above the global competition. Yet such a rich heritage isn't without issues. When the bar has been set this high you have a lot to live up to, and that's putting it mildly. So you'd think Mutants would have thought long and hard before snapping up the pairing of KitSch 2.0, though nothing could be further from the truth as Emperor-in-chief John Dahlback explains, "These guys have a really incomparable sound. It's fresh, fun and unlike anything else out there right now." And the reason for this originality? Location. You see, unlike their established peers, KitSch aren't from the bohemian alley's of Paris, but rather the port of Marseille where their studio - quite literally - looks out to the sea that surrounds them, a source of inspiration that's far from lost on them: "We've always wanted to make waves in music that's as big as the Mediterranean around us," they elaborate, "With Housecoholic our aim was to fuse several genres, a mutation if you will, which really wasn't easy - we even had to go and play it out live to see if it worked! Yet, at it's heart, the track also has a very simple message of fun. It's a state of mind we want to share with all the party people around the world." And they're really not kidding about the genres (or the fun), 'Housecoholic' manages to blend a rap vocal, electro stabs and funky bassline with the unique, undefinable flair the Gauls have made all their own. A track that will make you smile when you first hear it on a dancefloor and still have you smiling on the journey home, or the next day even... And, just in case that weren't enough to smile about fellow Mutants label mates Lunde Bros. have stepped up to add even more sunshine with a shimmering remix of riff-driven euphoria. A complete package of Mediterranean madness if ever there was one!
