We've decided to get a bore hole reactivated to irrigate the vineyard. After last years incredibly hot dry summer, our vines became water stressed. That's not going to happen this year. We had a old bore hole that was last used about 70 years ago. However, we thought we should at least check if it was still servicable.... and it was!! There was an existing 6 inch hole that went 150 feet down and we hit water 100 feet down. A new 4 inch pipe was put inside the old pipe and the outer space packed with gravel. The bore hole can extract about 2000 to 2500 litres of water per hole - all being fed by an underground aquafer. In this video, I've started the process of getting the bore hole brought back into action, but I've got some way to go.....
