Opening and review of Azone Kikipop Strawberry Sunny Bunny Daze BJD Doll. I've always wanted a Kikipop doll but have been hesistant to purchase one as there was always other things that I wanted or were offered more (like a very rare Vintage Carebear NobleHeart Horse etc). Finally the kids decided to get me one for my birthday and after much searching I fell in love with this bunny version. I have a real affinity for rabbits and her colours and face were just too cute! Thank you to my gorgeous kids for this awesome birthday gift. (Tt was between her or a real Korean Doll Pam). My thoughts: Kikipop versus other wider face/kid bjds (eg. Blythe, Pullip dolls etc). She holds her own and there is definitely a place for her. I sometijmes find Blythe and Pullip variations too similar but Kikipop has enough variation in her face, especially with those eye chips, that she deserves a spot in the BJD world. She also fits into my alternative for BJDs for me as her furry face lips and larger eyes aren't the usual more adult anime or realistic style I collect. She is a doll you'll love or hate, not much inbetween imho. Do I think her price is reflected in her smaller build. Honestly, yes and no. I find her a litte too basic in her face-up for her higher price tag but yes in that she covers a cutsey anime style not reflected elsewhere. I would recommend her only if you have seen one in the real world beforehand (which I had). I do know someone who purchased one and was disappointed in the size/style as, in his words, "I was expecting something a little bigger". Kikipop is a great addition to any bjd collection. There are however fakes available out there and I have purchased on to do a comparison. I will review it with my usual explanations on how fake dolls effect the market and kill a hobby. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, i've seen some great fakes out there - and even been a little impressed at a few but, again, you do so at the expense of another person's art and livelihood. The choice is always yours. I hope you enjoy this review, let me know if you like her, or are you like my brother and think she's a little scary (haha).
