It's been approximated that almost half a billion (480 million) animals have been killed by the bush fires in Australia. That figure includes birds, reptiles, and mammals (koalas, kangaroos, livestock, horses, cats, dogs, rabbits, etcetera), except bats. It also excludes insects and frogs - meaning the true number is likely much higher. Experts believe it could take decades for wildlife to recover.
