My friend, I tell you - Jesus loves you. As you layed covered in shame and fear, He took you, cleansed you, and instead covered you with a blanket of love holding you close to His heart. Ruth, a poor widow, received the same treatment from Boaz, a wealthy man who took Ruth to be his wife. They first met when Ruth was picking up leftover grain on Boaz's field. He gave her special treatment to pick up as much left over grain as she could carry. Later, when Ruth married, "she gave birth to a son." who would become the grandfather of King David, and later through the line of David our ultimate Redeemer, Jesus Christ was born. "Pure and genuine religion... means caring for orphans and widows in their distress."
