NANDAN PRATIM SHARMA BORDOLOI's video: Miya Poetry Creating communal divide demean Assam in outside My Show

@‘Miya Poetry’ Creating communal divide, demean Assam in outside. My Show
after my show Assam Police has registered a case against ten people, mostly from the Bengali-origin Muslim community, for their alleged portrayal of the Assamese society as “xenophobic” through their poems written in the ‘Miya’ dialect. The ten people against whom the FIR had been filed are mostly Bengali Muslim poets and activists who write in ‘Miya dialect’. The accused persons have been identified as Hafiz Ahmed, Rehena Sultana, Abdur Rahim, Ashraful Hussain, Abdul Kalam Azad, Selim M. Hussain, Karishma Hazarika, Barnamalika Choudhury and Farhad Bhuyan. The people had been booked under sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Miya poetry is the type of poetry which is written directly against the ominous acts of the government, like Citizenship Amendment Bill. Poets pen poems which speak of those who suffer for the policies of the government and herein, the poets have been arrested for writing poems which speak of the sufferings of the people in the North East due to Citizenship Amendment Bill or NRC. Under every authority whose main motive was to commit genocide, the first thing they curbed was free speech in the form of poetry, stories and novellas. Hitler burned books which subsequently demolished ideals and that was just a consequence of his authoritarian rule. Poets and authors were jailed, sent in exile, killed, and murdered for they made others feel the sufferings of the oppressed. The same situation is going on in our nation and here is the picture of the incoming genocide, as poets get arrested for standing with the oppressed ones. The powerful poems — “My Mother’s Name is D Voter” by Ashraful Hussain, “Write Down I Am Miya” by Hafiz Ahmed, “I Am Miya” by Rehna Sultana, “How Many More Days” by Abdul Rahim and “That Land is Mine” by Kazi Sharowar Hussein — talk about about the fears of the community, their persecution and violence, and the question of citizenship.
