Iran news in brief, January 16, 2021 Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 478 Cities Exceeds 202,100 Over 202,100 people have died of the novel coronavirus across all Iran, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran as of Friday. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 56,621 around a third of the actual figure. “If the reopening of schools leads to a new Covid-19 rise while and the UK strain spreading across the country, most certainly the president as the chair of the National Covid-19 Task Force will be held responsible,” said a member of the regime’s Majlis on Thursday, according to the state controlled Ruydad24 website. “This virus has not at all been weakened or destroyed.
