NDSSorg's video: Massachusetts self-advocate John Anton Gives Speech on Impact of Subminimum Wage

@Massachusetts self-advocate John Anton Gives Speech on Impact of Subminimum Wage
NDSS cohosted a briefing with the National Council on Disability (NCD) and the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) on subminimum wages. Congressman Gregg Harper (R-MS) was in attendance along with Neil Romano, who is a member of the NCD and former Assistance Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy, and Allison Wohl of Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) National. Larysa Kautz of Melwood and Christopher Christian of Vadis discussed how their companies voluntarily got rid of their 14c certificates and began paying their employees with disabilities a fair wage. They expressed the positive impact of removing subminimum wages. Doing so not only had a positive impact on the individual employee but on the organization as a whole. There was an increase in morale across the board at both of their companies!
