The Puri-bound Vande Bharat Express had to halt near Vaitarani Road station around 4:30 PM on May 21. The damage was caused by the snapping of electrical wires due to strong winds and the train being affected by the stormwater. As a result, the railway authorities dispatched a diesel engine to transport the affected Vande Bharat Express to the nearest station. Meanwhile, the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express has been sent to the workshop for repairs to address the substantial damages incurred. However, due to the unavailability of another rake, the Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express has been canceled for May 22.
