The reason behind this is that Rail Tunnel T1 is a special structure traversing the Himalayas and is weaker in terms of rock formations due to its alignment with the MBT. Because of this, the tunnel faces continuous water seepage, causing the excavation work to progress at a slow pace. However, now only a remaining 82 meters of this 3.2-kilometer long rail tunnel are left to be completed, which will be opened soon.
