This place has a very stunning history, the capturing of this fort by Maratha's is again a marvellous example of bravery and courageous nature of soldiers. The fort is still in a good condition and has some beautiful locations and one can see some mesmerizing scenery. Best time to visit : winter or else summer mornings and evenings. Deciding to climb during afternoon is not so good choice, with the sun up, you can get dehydrated and exhausted very easily. Must visit place in Pune. Finally the responsible departments are making good efforts to restore the fort. The road ways to enter the fort have improved quite a lot. The signage are also much better, way finding and informative banners are posted in the necessary areas. There are plenty of small restaurant on the fort to eat. The forest department controls the entry and exit. The good thing is they don't allow after certain time if it's over crowded on the fort/ parking is full. So I highly recommend to visit this fort, mostly in the first half of the day 6-10am ( weekends).
