The Union Cabinet approved the establishment of three semiconductor units in India under the 'Development of Semiconductors and Display Manufacturing Ecosystems' initiative. India's first Semiconductor Fab will be in Dholera, Gujarat, in partnership of Tata Electronics Pvt. Ltd. and Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp, Taiwan. Investment: Rs 91,000 crore Capacity: 50,000 wafer starts per month (WSPM) Focus: High-performance compute chips & power management chips for EVs, telecom, defence, automotive sector and more. This propels India into the global semiconductor value chain!
