Fueron diversas las reacciones en la redes sociales con motivo a la muerte del emblemático locutor venezolano Porfirio Torres. El gran locutor era considerado una de las grandes voces de la historia de la radio venezolana. El periodista César Miguel Rondón fue uno de los primeros en manifestar su pesar por la muerte de Torres. A través de Twitter escribió: "Conocí a Porfirio Torres cuando me iniciaba en Radio Nacional. 1974. Era un joven con cabello, pero sin título de locutor, y él ya era una leyenda por Nuestro Insólito Universo".
