Der Aqua-Zoo in Düsseldorf ist mit etwa 400.000 Besuchern im Jahr eines der meistbesuchten Kulturinstitute in Düsseldorf. Dabei fungiert es nicht nur als reiner Zoo-.Betrieb, sondern auch gleichzeitig als Naturkundemuseum. Dies geht darauf zurück, das man die Sammlung des Apothekers Theodor Löbbecke (1821-1901) mit ausstellte, weswegen der Zoo auch den Beinamen Löbbecke-Museum trägt. In dieser einzigartigen Verbindung aus Museum und Aquarium kann man hauptsächlich Fische, Amphibien, Reptilien und Insekten entdecken.
