NUTTY's video: NUTTY: Back In Black And White - the official version

@NUTTY: "Back In Black (And White)" - the official version
Released as "Nutty: Back In Black", this music video was part of a Nutty show captured live at the Hip Kitty in Claremont on March 26th, 2011. It was a recent contender at the Dances With Films Festival and the subsequent HollyShorts Film Festival, both held at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, and winner of the Golden Ace Award at the Las Vegas Film Festival at the LVH Theatre. The project was an ambitious endeavor to capture Nutty in the moment, with the idea of creating a composite promo video and/or individual song videos. This video is of Nutty's rendition of the AC/DC super hit, "Back In Black", which Nutty retitled--as they do with all the songs they 're-interpret'-- "Back In Black And White". Press quote from Martini Crew Booking: "If you've ever tried to wrangle 100 unruly extras during the filming of a critical scene allowing only two maximum takes, you'll start to get an idea of what we were up against in the filming of "Nutty: Back in Black". Except that we didn't have 100 extras - we had 100 GUESTS. These folks had PAID to see the performance, so we weren't about to boss them around. That's right, the entirety of "Nutty: Back in Black" was shot with only three cameras during a LIVE performance at The Hip Kitty, a spectacular jazz venue in Claremont, CA. Communication was impossible due to the decibel level, so everything had to be worked out ahead of time. Mark Vanheerden ran hundreds of feet of cable to take 12 isolated tracks of audio from the various sources on stage so that we had pristine audio to mix from later. DP Clay Westervelt conferred with Camera Ops James Conant and Brad Carper to forge a plan of attack - covering wide shots and close inserts during other songs, but concentrating on high-energy and essential sync moments during Nutty's performance twist on AC/DC's "Back in Black". With no rehearsal, no on-camera direction, and no course-corrections, "Nutty: Back in Black" is a testament to what talented individuals can achieve with a little planning and some inspiring material. Go Nutty!"
