NYC Flyer's video: 99 Transatlantic Flights to New York EDI to Stewart International SWF

@$99 Transatlantic Flights to New York? EDI to Stewart International (SWF)
CORRECTION: this plane was actually a 737-Max, my bad. With one-way flights to and from New York City for around $100, Norwegian Air’s heavily discounted transatlantic flights have been causing a lot of buzz in the travel community. There is a catch however, instead of flying into JFK or Newark airports, these flights operate out of a small airport located about an hour outside of NYC called Stewart International Airport (SWF). And don’t expect to be flying on one of Norwegian’s 787 Dreamliners, for these particular routes the airline operates the Boeing 737, a plane which is normally used on their inter-European short haul flights. In this video I aim to provide a comprehensive review of flying on one of these bargain flights and I also look at the commute from Stewart to New York City; I’ve also included some bonus footage of Scotland for fun. So, would I recommend Norwegian’s service via Stewart? If you’re willing to sacrifice a little bit of comfort, then absolutely! While this was a no-frills flight, the 737 proved to be perfectly adequate in getting me home and the small size of Stewart was actually quite nice. I didn’t have to wait long for my bag and clearing customs and immigration was quick and painless. The lack of a rail link between the airport and the city did not prove to be an issue as Norwegian’s shuttle bus surpassed my expectations. I think the best part about Norwegian’s SWF routes is that it affordably links NYC with many cities that have limited or no direct flights. Taking this flight for example, the only other option to fly direct from Scotland to New York was a $1,200 United flight that flew into Newark Airport (EWR). While I wasn’t able to score a $99 flight, after paying for a checked bag and a meal, I only ended up spending around $340 for this flight into Stewart. Moreover, you can catch a flight to cities like Bergen, Norway and Belfast, Northern Ireland, that otherwise have no direct connections. I really hope that this new hub catches on and Norwegian continues to expand their service here.
