Karen Lee Szabo - Mother Daughter Sister Grandma Aunt Cousin & Friend to all. Forever loved & missed This video is in memory of my mother. On January 11, 2020 Ms. Karen Lee Szabo, 66, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved children, at Ellis Hospital ICU in Schenectady. This followed a courageous battle with an acute cardiac condition. She fought valiantly, as she had in previous health issues, until she passed and was able to be at rest. Karen was known for her love of life, her infectious smile and, most importantly, her love for her family, especially her beloved children. She was a homemaker who proudly nourished and fed her children both in mind as well as body, to make them the family that they are today. She spent many years teaching her children the true importance of life. First and foremost, to be kind to others but also to live a fulfilled life. To be the best you can possibly be and to have fun and enjoy life…but never at anyone else’s expense. Karen was a proud Pagan and a valuable resource on pagan history. She was also a passionate lover of music David Bowie and Adam Lambert especially. She would have been very happy living in a library…she was an avid reader who always had a book close by. She had a remarkable “green thumb” and loved her plants, all of whom thrived under her care. She also loved nature in general and seemed to have a special affinity for sharks, among other creatures. She had many interests and worked for a number of years at the County Building. She was a long-time Avon representative and coordinated many online vendor events as well as online garage sales. For many years she served as a local liaison between tenants and a local landlord, showing apartments, collecting rents, etc. She always had time for anyone who needed to talk…she had a willing ear and shoulder for anyone who needed her. She was a lifelong area resident who was born in Gloversville on Sept. 22, 1953, to the late Harry and Barbara Thrall. She was a 1971 graduate of Johnstown High School. Karen will be missed by many of her fellow community members and friends but most especially by her children: Jeremy Spagnuola (Lacy), Kristina Rodriguez (Richard), David Komornik and Cody Keier; loving brother Jamie Thrall, loving sister Cathy Baxter; Aunt Peg Gowans and cousins Michael Gowans and Ann Marie Hemstreet; as well as her cherished grandchildren: Bridget, Dominick, Jazzlyn & Baylee-Grace Spagnola, and Maxwell, Avant, and Donovan Rodriguez. I do not own any rights to the music Music from Splice app
