NZ RailAction's video: Di 1102 Dg 772 - Hook Tow to Waipara HD

During July 2018, the Diesel Traction Group arranged a hook & tow agreement with KiwiRail to transfer Di 1102 & Dg 772 from their home at Ferrymead to the Weka Pass Railway at Waipara. Along the way, Di 1102 had a treatment on the wheel lathe so that it will have a fresh set of tyres for a new life operating heritage excursions. We capture exclusive footage from under the Di at the wheel lathe hard at work, plus the mainline shunts to Waipara and clearance test run to Waikari. Both locomotives will be based at Waipara until October while Di 1102 undergoes testing and certification to mainline running which will be completed hopefully in the next few months, enjoy!
