"Voices Of Africa" is not just entertainment. We are not just folks who dress up in African Garb and play African instruments. We are all educators, and our goal is to teach and inform as well as bring soul stirring rhythms and dances to our performances. Each and every member is in the teaching profession, we are teaching dance, drumming, songs and the historical indicators of the music we present. I prefer to call it Edutainment as I want our audiences to walk away knowing a little more than they knew before. We also engage our audiences and ask them to participate by dancing along with us. We will even invite you onto our stage so you can be a temporary member of the VOA community. We enjoy interacting with our audience and you will often hear me say, "African Music is not a spectator sport. So give the drummer some!" We create community when we come to the stage.
