Natalie Grimmett's video: Overtones an Improvisation: Saturday Matinee 12

Last year I was introduced to the concept of overtones: Using the harmonic series to produce 2 notes at once. I immediately set about to teaching myself how to do them, and eventually found success. HOWEVER, the downside was that from then on I kept on accidentally producing overtones even when I didn't mean to.I got freaked out and stopped singing overtones for fear I would train my voice into bad habits. Then, this Thursday I was in a workshop masterclass with the amazing Gerald Marko. He mentioned overtone singing, and I told him my problem. His advice, however, was not to stop, but to practise overtones so that I could recognise exactly how it felt to make them, so that I could also recognise how it felt not to make them in my everyday singing practise.
