You know what I like? I like to dance... I've been dancing since I was 4 years old. The story goes that my dad received the film "Wild Wild West" (1999) for Christmas, and soon after we discovered the music video for the soundtrack to the movie made by Will Smith. It made 4 year old me dance, I just couldn't help it, and I still can't help it when I hear that song today. My parents loved it, and they would play it over and over for me so they could watch me dance around the living room. Soon after, they realized I had taught myself some of the moves in the music video, and decided to put my older brother and I into boys hip hop dance classes the following season. My brother quit after the first year, but the bug had already bit me, I had an itch I needed to scratch and I needed to go back to dance class. I continued to take hip hop class once a week throughout my younger years while participating in other activities and scholastic sports like drama, soccer, basketball, baseball, and football. I eventually stopped doing all of these sports and activities but I never stopped dancing. By the time I was 13 years old, dancing was the only thing that I did. I picked up multiple other styles of dance including tap, modern, musical theater and lyrical. When I was 14 I knew dance was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, and so began my journey. Now, at 20 years old I have an incredible opportunity in front of me. I have worked hard, quietly for 6 years, and finally I have reached one of my biggest goals in life... I am a full time dance teacher and choreographer! I have quit my part time job, and now my one and only focus in life is my favorite love and passion, dance.
