National Geographic's video: First Ascent of a Sky Island Podcast Overheard at National Geographic

@First Ascent of a Sky Island | Podcast | Overheard at National Geographic
In the most remote part of Guyana, unique plateaus called tepuis—also called “sky islands”—rise up from the jungle. At the top of these tepuis are unique ecosystems filled with plants and animals never before seen by human eyes. But getting there is no small feat. Unable to scale the sheer cliff face himself, 80-year-old biologist Bruce Means teamed up with professional climbers and indigenous people to trek through the jungle and get to the top of the tepui Weiassipu in search of frogs and adventure. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe ➡ Get more of Overheard at National Geographic here: https://bit.ly/OverheardPodcast ➡ Catch up on all episodes of Overheard at National Geographic: https://on.natgeo.com/3n9D3cF You can also listen to the Overheard at National Geographic podcast on these platforms: ➡ Apple: https://bit.ly/OverheardOnApple ➡ Spotify: https://bit.ly/OverheardOnSpotify ➡ Stitcher: https://bit.ly/OverheardOnStitcher ➡ Google Podcasts: https://bit.ly/OverheardOnGoogle ➡ iHeart Radio: https://bit.ly/OverheardOniHeart ➡ Castbox: https://bit.ly/OverheardOnCastbox About Overheard at National Geographic: Documenting democracy, Untwisting the world’s largest tornado.
