PAF Officers' Mess Kalabagh, occupies a privileged location, maintained and managed by Pakistan Air Force. It is certainly the best accomodation facility available in Nathia Gali. The Mess is just 4 Km ahead of Nathia Gali, while going towards Abbotabad. It's a peaceful resort in the midst of lush green meadows & towering Deodar & Ceder trees. Brief History of the Mess - Before Independence Kalabagh Cantonment housed a Royal Artillery Mountain Battery. After Independence, alongwith other Cantonments of Galiyat, it was inherited by Pak Army. However, in 1957, Air Marshal Asghar Khan persuaded Field Marshal Ayub Khan for handing over Kalabagh Cantonment to PAF. In 1958, Ski & Mountaineering School was established at this place. Finally, on 31st March, 1975, the Kalabagh attained the status of a Base with Wing Commander, Shah Khan S J as its first Base Commander. Now the task of the Base is to impart Survival & Adventure training.
