Pakistan's Most Scenic Drive to Taobat Bala The otherworldly beautiful hamlet of Taobat Bala is situated in Gurez Sector along LOC (Line of Control, the 861-km border line between India and Pakistan) in Neelam Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Gurez is a sub valley of Neelam and is divided into three regions. The area from Toabat to Sharda Peeth is administered by Pakistan as Neelum District, that between Kamri and Minimarg is also administered by Pakistan as Astore District, Gilgit-Baltistan, and that from Taobat to Abdullah Tulail is known as Gurez Tehsil and falls in District Bandipore of Indian Occupied Kashmir. The small fairytale village perfectly sits near confluence of Gagai and Dudgai Nullahs, known as Gagai river, which joins Neelam River at Taobat and become a right bank tributary of the river. This heavenly place with untapped tourism potential is at a distance of 203 kilometers from Muzaffarabad & around 3-km from that of Taobat-I. Nonethless, the drive from Taobat to Taobat Bala along the enchanting Gagai nullah is like a cherry on a cake. The 3-km drive starting from Taobat Bridge to the village is certainly the country's most scenic drive. Set up camps, sit back and relax to take in the amazing landscape.
