Dr. Janaki Rangarajan's video: Dr Janaki Rangarajan- Bharatanatyam - Kandam Alangaaram and Tiruppugazh

“ திருப்புகழ்” Tiruppugazh- Snippets from my creation inspired by Saint Arunagirinathar’s (திரு அருணகிரிநாதர்) works (15th century). Starting with beautiful words from கந்தர் அலங்காரம் (Kandar Alangaaram)-“விழிக்குத் துணை” followed by 2 hymns from Tiruppugazh- “ இருமலு ரோக” (“Irumalu Roga”) and “அகரமுமாகி” (“Agaramumaagi”). All in praise of தமிழ் கடவுள் முருகன் - Lord Murugan..A God traditionally invoked for protection and victory during war and against any evil forces and diseases! In the Tiruppugazh, “Irumalu Roga”, the saint requests the God to protect him from a number of painful ailments not just in this birth but in every birth🙏🏼 Hope we heal along with Mother Nature ...Stay home; Stay safe!
