NearbyWild's video: A Goldcrest Searches For Insects on Ivy Leaves

@A Goldcrest Searches For Insects on Ivy Leaves
Always a delight to watch, I was first alerted to the Goldcrest by its distinctive high pitched call, as it searched for tiny morsels, such as spiders, moth eggs and other small insects amongst the ivy leaves overhead. Ivy provides shelter and food for goldcrests during the winter months and may even help them to survive a cold snap. At just six and a half grams in weight, this tiny bird needs all the help it can get. So do leave some dense ivy cover in your garden, if possible.
