Stellar Productions's video: Politically Incorrect Debates the 9 11 Emmys 10-08-01

Several weeks before 9/11, I was elected as the new Chair/CEO of the Television Academy. The Emmys were scheduled for September 15th and in the aftermath of 9/11 we immediately postponed them. We re-scheduled them for October 7th and on that morning America invaded Afghanistan. They got postponed a second time. The next day I appeared on "Politically Incorrect" with Bill Maher where he attacked the decision. He also introduced me as "Bruce" which is an entirely different issue. What bothered me most was how Bill and the other guests (including Joan Rivers) used the decision to postpone just for laughs. I was supposed to defend the decision but it was really hard to get a word in. Still, appearing on the show was a real event/moment in my life. I'm glad I had the chance to do it. Bill hardly acquitted himself as being a nice guy, but that's kind of his persona, so no big deal. This is not the entire show, just a few highlights of the Emmy discussion.
