New Zealand Alpine Team's video: NZAT Canadian Rockies Training Trip January 2023

Every three years, the New Zealand Alpine Team takes on new mentees. These mentees will be intensively mentored over the next three years to reach a high level of competency in a wide range of climbing skills. The Canadian Rockies ice climbing trip is one of these training trips, intended to give mentees immense mileage on waterfall ice, that they can then apply in the high mountains both back in New Zealand and right around the world. This year mentors Lionel Clay, Jono Clarke and Alastair McDowell worked with Liam Pyott, Mason Gardiner, Sophie Jenkins, Owen Daniel, Henry Booker and Maddy Whittaker over a month in the rockies. It was awesome to see how rapidly the mentees can progress with intensive mentorship.
