NewEnglandElevators's video: Six-Story Schindler MT 300A HIGHdraulic Elevator - D Hotel and Suites - Holoyke MA

@Six-Story Schindler MT 300A HIGHdraulic Elevator - D. Hotel and Suites - Holoyke, MA
(Rec. Mar. 2016) My tallest MT hydro to date! Not my tallest MT overall (that would be the CTCC parking garage), nor probably not the tallest MT hydro that's out there, but my tallest MT hydro! Also, this does have a bit of an epic motor, if you ask me! Walking in, it seems like an ordinary Schindler elevator from the early 2000's. However, it's interesting to note that this serves SIX stories total. Do keep in mind that the elevator does not have a 6th floor labeled. Rather, the elevator seems to use the European numbering convention; with the bottom most floor labeled as *G, and then going from 1-5. The hotel is built on a slight hill, and there are not many rooms on the G level. Rooms are labeled regularly a floor above the G level. Performance wise, the elevator does have a few noises on upward travel. However, I do not recall any jolting from the elevator, so they are simply rattling noises. This elevator DOES run fine otherwise, so I DO NOT have any complaints whatsoever. Do take note of some of the Country Inn and Suites styled signage within the elevator, particularly next to the *G and 1 buttons. This hotel used to be a Country Inn and Suites, but is now independently operated (refer to "location info" below). It was installed around 2001, according to the interlock (not shown), around the same time the 321A was discontinued, and the 330A was starting production. The 300A may have been a less expensive option at the time, or it may have been able to support all the floors. LOCATION INFO: This particular hotel is situated right adjacent to Interstate 91, convenient for motorists, (but situated far away enough where the highway noises will not interfere guests). The hotel has various room options, including standard rooms, suite-like rooms, and suites. Other amenities include a pool, gym, and breakfast area. Also on-site is the Delaney House, and the Mick grill. This hotel was originally built and opened sometime in the 2000's as a Country Inn and Suites. However, the property became independently owned and operated in 2013. **A stay at this hotel is a VERY good value; comfortable rooms at a very good price, a good breakfast, and very friendly service overall. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're in the area.
