Banh Mi Nuong Muoi Ot is one such food. It has gotten really popular in the major cities of Vietnam recently. You will see young foodies, eagerly waiting in long lines to get a taste of this unique and flavorful snack from the many food stands that have popped up overnight. What makes this street food so popular is because it offers a taste of American and Vietnamese fusion. Plus, it's simple good food, and I can't imagine the wonders it does for a bad hangover. Banh Mi Nuong Muoi Ot is a baguette that has been flatten with a rolling pin or the backside of a thick cutting board, then smeared with chili oil, scallion oil and melted butter. It is then grilled over charcoal, cut into bite-sized pieces with a pair of scissors and topped with mayo, Sriracha, slices of hot dogs or a sprinkle of dried pork/chicken floss. Once the bread hits the charcoal, the aroma from the chili oil, scallion oil and melted butter is pure heaven. Add on the savory toppings and creamy mayonnaise, and you got yourself a quick spicy, savory, crunchy snack. The taste of Banh Mi Nuong Muoi Ot is so satisfying with many different flavors in play. It tastes even better when it'sright off the grill. Of course, you don't need to travel to Vietnam to get a taste of this delicious street food. You can simply make it at home.
