Temperatures have reached record levels on an Easter Sunday in three of the UK's four countries. Records have tumbled today in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - and the Met Office hasn't ruled out the UK record being toppled. At 1pm the mercury hit 23C in Trawsgoed, Wales, and 21.3 at Fyvie Castle in Scotland. It also reached 20.7C at Helen's Bay in Northern Ireland. The UK record is 25.3C, and at 1pm a reading of 23.9C was measured in Gosport, Hampshire. Met Office meteorologist Dean Hall said the record for the warmest Easter Sunday of 25.3C could be broken as temperatures could "possibly" reach 26C across southern England. He said: "There is unbroken sunshine for the bulk of the UK and temperatures in the mid-20s." Met Office forecaster Helen Roberts said: "The very warm sunshine continues right through the bank holiday weekend. We could still see more record-breaking temperatures on Easter Monday too." Bookmaker Ladbrokes earlier cut odds from 5/6 to just 8/11 for this year to see the hottest Easter Sunday on record. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Brits have been treated to a scorching start to the Easter weekend and things will only get hotter if the latest odds are anything to go by."
