Mohlopheni Jackson Marakalala will be talking about the need to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to curb TB transmission. He will focus on the identification of immunological molecules that promote lung inflammation and drive TB disease progression, and how such molecules can be targeted to develop host-directed therapies to improve current treatment protocols. He will also talk a bit about learning from the Covid19 experience in our response to the TB problem.
