Next Management's video: Proenza Schouler Spring Summer 2019

@Proenza Schouler Spring / Summer 2019
NEW YORK — The boys are back in town! Yes, they are! Following two seasons showing in Paris on the couture calendar, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez returned to their Proenza Schouler roots for their Spring / Summer 2019 runway show. Prodigal sons they most certainly were not. By all indications Monday afternoon at 30 Wall Street this was but a resumption of normal service, 31 total looks. If there was any complaint to be made, then it would have been for more. Brevity surely will only whet consumer appetites for the darling label. The pair admitted this week they are not chasing a billion dollar valuation for Proenza Schouler. This collection was lean, but no less mean. Humbler fabrics, acid wash denim even, predominated the collection in marked contrast to the atelier intensive collections shown in Paris. Intent can be read in the strong casting, replete with supers from an era predating even the births of many a new face. Add to that lineup Binx Walton and Selena Forrest and this run of show ripped like Slayer’s thrash metal masterpiece Reign in Blood (1986). Just shy of 29 minutes, that album eschews needlessness of any kind. There too was a similar commitment here in this collection, one which bodes well for seasons to come in New York.
