From Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti One of my favourite acoustic pieces. Tried to learn it years ago when I was in my mid -teens after my cousin introduced me to it. Gave up quite quickly though as it seemed impossible..... This was of course due to the fact that I was trying to figure it out by ear in standard tuning!! (back then there was no such thing as Google and the internet had only just been invented....). Anyway, I forgot about it for a while and just the other week discovered it again. Turns out it's in C6 tuning CACGCE low to high. Here's my attempt..... It's a tricky piece, rhythmically more than anything else, and I found it difficult to mimic exactly what Jimmy was doing. It's one of those pieces that the closer you think you're getting to nailing it, the further it seems to drift away !!... so perhaps it's not quite 100% like the recorded original but I reckon it's pretty close. Close enough for me to draw a line under it....for now. Recorded on a very cold and wet November morning. Bit of reverb and chorus added to give the vibe of the original.
