1 cup water ¼ tsp salt 1 tsp coconut oil 1 cup rice flour 1 cup shredded coconut ¾ cup jaggery powder 1 tsp poppy seeds 1 tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp crushed cashew nuts Method: Boil water in a pan with little salt and oil. Add rice flour to it and mix well and switch off the flame. Knead and keep aside. In a separate pan cook shredded coconut and saute till light brown. Then add powdered jaggery and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Now add poppy seeds, crushed cashews and cardamon. Mix well. Make small balls from dough. Grease the modak mould with a bit of oil. And spread the rice dough on both the sides. Add stuffing in the centre. Press the mould to seal the sides of modak. Open the mould and gently remove the modak from mould.
