The HARS* based Grumman S-2G tracker RAN Number 844 demonstrated the wing folding process (as did the Corsair and Avenger) during the Wings over Illawarra Airshow in New South Whales Australia. HARS has three (?) Grumman Trackers used as former carrier-based anti-submarine search and attack aircraft. This Grumman tracker is one of the 32 purchased for the Royal Australian Navy over different batches. With a wing span of 22 metres the folding of its wings was crucial to the Tracker on aircraft carriers. * HARS (Historical Aircraft Restoration Society)
