Khusrau was a prolific classical poet associated with the royal courts of more than seven rulers of the Delhi Sultanate. Khusrau wrote many playful riddles, songs and legends which have become a part of popular culture in South Asia. Through his literary output, Khusrau represents one of the first (recorded) Indian personages with a true multicultural or pluralistic identity. This is a form of  devotional singing of the Sufi Islamic music and has its origins in Indian Turkish traditions.  The Qawwali as traditionally done closes with the song "Rang" which is a commemoration to his spiritual ( Nizamuddin Auliya) master and their relationship.
