Chitkul is a village located in the Baspa Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Located at a height of 3450 m above sea level, it is a frontier village and the last settlement before the Indo-Tibetan border. It is also the last northward point in India that one can travel to without a permit. Chitkul is known for growing some of the finest quality peas and potatoes in India. Chitkul is religiously important as it is considered the last point in the Kinner Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation of the Kinner Kailash mountain). We continued our trip from ReckongPeo back to Karcham Dam and then followed the route to Sangla Valley. This was really the most amazing and dangerous road as it is very narrow and the valley is very steep. And at some places the mountains are very unstable as the landslide is uncertain. Then we continued to Chitkul where the nature is in its extreme. The beautiful mountains of Kinner Kailash looks so amazing and fresh with dense snow.
